Beauveria Bassiana

Beauveria Bassiana

Product Description

Beauveria Bassiana is an entomopathogenic fungus that causes white muscadine disease in a range of insects including whiteflies, aphids, thrips, grasshoppers, and certain types of beetles. Beauveria bassiana is mainly used to target foliar pests as many soil-dwelling pests have developed a natural resistance to Beauveria Bassiana since it is native to such a range of regions.

Mode of Action - The spore of the fungus when comes in contact with the cuticle (skin) of the target pest insect germinates and grows directly through the spiracle in the cuticle into the inner body of the host. The fungus by taking nutrients from the insect proliferates and colonizes the entire insect and thus drains the insect of nutrients and the infected insects eventually die.
